Working with Communities!
I started BeSHE Inc. out of my own lived experience, dealing with early trauma and later facing domestic violence. When I came to Holly Springs in 2018, I realized that helping others was something I’d always been passionate about, even if I hadn’t fully understood it before. We officially started BeSHE Inc. in 2021, launched our first fundraisers in 2022, and obtained our 501(c)(3) status in 2023. We're still building and growing every day, and so far we've supported over 40 women. In short, I've always been that helpful light, and BeSHE Inc. is just the natural extension of that passion.
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like most nonprofits, we’ve faced our share of challenges, and finances and funding have been a big part of that. There’s also the struggle of overcoming judgment and getting people to really believe in what we do. But I've always reminded myself and others that it takes a village, and it’s never about me or any individual person—it’s about the cause. That perspective has helped us push through those obstacles and keep growing."
